Domain Depth and Breadth our combined wisdom

eCommerce

Combined Wisdom's experience in eCommerce is extensive. Not only have we worked on almost every segment of the ecommerce value chain but we have done so in an international context. Examples of some of the value chain that we know exceptionally well are

  • Pricing of logistics, importation costs, as well as discount adjustments in a multi-leg, multi-vendor, multi-origin environment
  • Transaction Restrictions due to product shipping and/or trade (import & export) restrictions.
  • Payments/Fraud solutions to authorize, settle, credit funds in a variety of currencies, hedge exchange rates and verify buyer integrity.
  • Orders along with their items, quantities, the parcels they ship in, the revenues that are collected and the costs that offset those revenues

Logistics

From a shelf in San Francisco, USA to a living room in Vilnius, Lithuania. International ecommerce items travel through a complex route to reach their destination. We have developed a solid understand of each step along that route. For example,

  • Items purchased, their classification for customs clearance and reporting purposes, their landed cost, parcels they are travelling in and claims should exceptions occur.
  • Parcels shipped, the items they contain, their dimensional measures, monetary value, delivery promise, tracking status and history.
  • Shipping Agents used in multi-leg transportation models where parcels move individually, are then aggregated into freight, moved intercontinentally, then distributed through last mile agents to international buyers
  • Border Control and Revenue Agents through which items associated with cross border orders are cleared through customs.  Each country has different rules as to what can be imported, how items are priced for import and what tariffs are applied to items depending on their type.

Marketing

Beyond helping retailers establish an ability to transact with international buyers and fulfill orders to them, we also help retailers find buyers in new markets that are similar to buyers in their domestic markets. Together with partners, we can help with

  • Targeting of likely prospects to purchase certain items from certain retailers in certain countries.  Create clusters of prospects to target with different campaigns.
  • Prepare and execute direct marketing campaigns delivered through a variety of mediums including online SEO, social, banners, curated content, as well as, offline channels including catalogs, address and unaddressed advertising mail.
  • Response Measurement of offers delivered via direct marketing campaigns to measure campaign efficacy and further tuning of targeting list selection and match weighting.

Built for Agility and efficiency

Our Methodology

You either know what you want to build or you don't. If you don't, we can help you with your plan, if you do, we can build it for you. In some cases, we can also operate it for you.

Our startup lineage combined with extensive experience in both startup and Enterprise environments influences our methodology a great deal. This experience gives us our foundational tenant of agility. Different business objectives determine the type of project approach to use. For example, starting a new product or service as a garage based startup or Fortune 500 company has similar key success criteria.

The ability to listen to customers and incorporate their needs into a fluid project scope with multiple deliveries is essential.

By drafting early and iterating often, one greatly enhances the likelihood that the product/service being created is useful for our customer's customer. When they are happy, so too are our customers.

Our operation involves delivering fully managed, small agile project teams. We have developed an internal delivery process that is repeatable and successful. It proves highly effective and most importantly, productive. When delivering on a software development project, Combined Wisdom assigns a set of core team members who is backed by a supporting cast of shared resources. This model allows us to keep projects lean and focused and bring in talent when and where the project requires.

We believe our approach is Ideal for incubation-style projects, which is the basis of much product management these days across startups and enterprises alike. Our teams, through our fully managed approach, dynamically adjust to fluid requirements. We emphasize developer-led software quality and strive for broad automated code test coverage.

Our pragmatic methodology coupled with our deep domain expertise in cross border commerce makes Combined Wisdom an ideal partner for your international expansion initiatives.

Cross Border Service Integration let us put our combined wisdom to work for you
